What is Path2Trade?

Path2Trade is a web app that trains beginner retail traders to read stock charts. You complete a short daily session of about 10 minutes — view real historical charts, make a forced-choice decision, and receive immediate, error-targeted feedback. Practice uses spaced repetition, so you revisit the patterns you most need to consolidate.

What is a "rule"?

A rule is a single, testable market pattern — for example, “About 70% of gaps close within three trading days.” Each rule has a one-line statistic, a short theory card with an explanatory chart, and a set of practice cases. You master a rule by answering enough cases correctly to meet the level-up thresholds.

What is a "family"?

A family is a group of related rules (4–6 rules per family). Path2Trade currently has five families: Gap Behavior, Basic. Trend Mechanics, Mean Reversion & Moving Averages, Moon Phases, and Pro. Trend Mechanics. Families unlock sequentially as you make progress.

How is a session composed?

Each session contains exactly 5 graded practice cases plus up to 3 short theory cards (theory cards do not count toward the 5-case quota). The 5 cases mix:

  • 1–2 spaced-repetition reviews (rules due today)
  • 1–2 mixed/advanced cases drawn from any rule you have unlocked at Level 3
  • 1–2 reinforcement cases targeting your weakest unlocked rule

A session takes about 10 minutes. Your first-ever session is a guided onboarding: five theory cards, each followed by a Level-1 practice case for the same rule.

What are Levels 1, 2, and 3?

Levels are different shapes of question that test the same rule at increasing difficulty.

  • Level 1 — Identify the rule. The chart highlights the pattern, the rule name is shown as a banner, and you pick the correct rule from a multiple-choice list of rules in the same family.
  • Level 2 — Make the call. The chart is realistic with no highlights; only the family name is shown. You decide whether to Buy, Sell, or do Nothing based on what you see.
  • Level 3 — Read the wild. A fully realistic chart that contains several patterns at once, with no banner and no hints. You make the same Buy / Sell / Nothing call. Currently only the Trend Mechanics families (Basic and Pro) go to Level 3.

How do I advance a rule to Level 2?

Level 2 unlocks for a rule when both are true:

  1. You have mastered that rule at Level 1 — at least 3 attempts, at least 2 correct, and 75% overall accuracy.
  2. At least 75% of the other rules in the same family have also reached Level-1 mastery.

The second condition means you build up the whole family together before any single rule promotes.

How do I advance a rule to Level 3?

Level 3 only exists for the Trend Mechanics families. It unlocks for a rule when all of these are true:

  1. The rule’s family supports Level 3.
  2. You have mastered the rule at Level 2 (3 attempts, 2 correct, 75% accuracy).
  3. All rules in the family have reached Level-1 mastery.
  4. At least 75% of the family’s rules have reached Level-2 mastery.

How do I unlock a new family?

You start with Gap Behavior unlocked. A new family unlocks automatically when at least 25% of the rules across the families you have already opened have reached Level-2 mastery.

Families unlock one at a time, in this fixed order: Gap Behavior → Basic. Trend Mechanics → Mean Reversion & Moving Averages → Moon Phases → Pro. Trend Mechanics. There is no manual “activate” step — the next family appears in your Skill Map and starts feeding cases into your sessions automatically.

What is a promo code and how do I get one?

Path2Trade is currently in closed beta. After your first free session, the app shows a paywall asking for a promo code; entering a valid code grants you Pro access permanently — no time limit, no recurring charge.

We hand out promo codes to early users individually. If you would like one, email support@path2trade.com and tell us a little about your trading background.

How do I report a bug or send feedback?
